The first thing that comes into my mind is how big of a taboo the topic is in my country India. Due to India being a very conservative society, it glorifies struggle and detests sexual acts which are deemed as selfish.

This is why most people in India aren't open to talking about sex ed when it is the most dire need for children who are experiencing hormonal changes in their bodies. For example - Teachers do not teach the reproduction chapter properly or parents do not give the talk to their teen children so that they will be careful in their lives.

The most common misconception I've heard is that Sex education is likely to increase the incidence of unwanted teenage pregnancies when it delays the initiation of the participant to sexual intercourse.

The idea of Sex education has a multitude of aspects, and we still have a long way to go before being completely comfortable with the idea of it.
